On Tuesday, May 7, over 100 people gathered at the Asia Society Texas to watch a special impact preview screening of A Bigger Films’ new documentary “Beyond the Bridge: A Solution To Homelessness.”

In late 2022, filmmakers Don Sawyer and Tim Hashko of A Bigger Vision Films visited Houston to learn about our homeless response system and how Houston was successfully finding solutions to homelessness.

Over the course of more than a year, the film team drove over 40,000 miles to visit 12 cities – including Houston – and dozens of service providers and policy makers to answer this question: How can our country solve homelessness in a comprehensive way?

After this special impact preview screening, CFTH hosted a panel to discuss various themes mentioned in the film. The panel was led by Kelly Young, CFTH President & CEO, and included community leaders and experts Dr. Rudy Rasmus, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Bread of Life Inc., Dr. Steve Sherman, Research Scientist for the Kinder Institute of Urban Research, and Kris Larson, President & CEO of Central Houston Inc.

The film team is still working on distribution, including trying to sell the documentary to a streaming platform.
