Donor Spotlight: Port City Chapter of The Links, Inc.

Aubry Vonck • November 16, 2020

“Friendship, service, impact.” This is the motto that the Port City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated lives by. Their mission is to transform communities through service, while also keeping their bond and friendship held high.

The Port City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was chartered in May 1987 is one of nine chapters located in the Houston Metropolitan area. The organization implements its programs with the purpose of fostering cultural appreciation through arts, developing richer inter-group relations, and helping women who participate understand and accept their social and civic responsibilities.

We were lucky enough to “link” up with two of their members in June 2020. After a great discussion, The Coalition was chosen by the Port City Chapter of The Links, Inc. as a recipient of the Western Area Links Covid-19 Impact Grant. The chapter made it clear that their priority was to make the most meaningful investment with their gift and benefit as many individuals experiencing homelessness as possible and create permanent change.

As their chapter continues to grow, volunteering over 30,000 hours of community service amongst their members, The Coalition hopes to grow and build with them hand in hand.

We are honored to have been selected as a grant recipient and are happy to highlight Port City Links for their dedication and service to the community!
